The meeting on Monday evening was partially successful.  Thank you to all those who contributed and attended.  We believe we had strong evidence to prove that Russells Crescent could not cope with the increased traffic this scheme would generate.

We fought hard for our Traffic Lights instead of a roundabout, but we are less sure of the outcome of this - they seem quite wedded to the idea of a roundabout, saying our existing trasffic lights are old and out of date, over engineered and costly to maintain.

We heard of no retailers or local bodies in favour of their scheme.  We know for sure that the following are opposed:

Waitrose, Collingwood Batchelor, HSBC, Cuts 'n' Clippers, Bateman Funeral services, St Catherine's Hospice, Chris White the Butcher, the Chamber of Commerce and most of the smaller shop owners and Horley Town Council.  Who, we ask ourselves, is supporting this idea?

Attached below are 2 documents arising from the meeting;

 - the short note of key things that we learnt
 - the full minutes of the meeting (13 pages)
