I couldn't help smiling when I saw the Council notice on the lamppost near the new taxi office in The Drive.
I now know why the pile of paving stones etc. that has been on the grass opposite for several weeks (even before the planning application) is there.
It is the material for the parking spaces!
When Roadrunners decided that they should move into this building and CHANGE it into office accommodation, they would obviously be aware of the need for parking.
It is a clever move though, to apply for 2 spaces plus 1 "disabled space".
They know that the council does not (yet) fine people for parking in a designated "disabled space" so with the help of the fact that they are providing (with council subsidy?!) a space for a disabled driver they could have 3 spaces instead of 2 (and for the price of 2 as well?).
There's no doubt in my mind that any of their drivers will use this "disabled space" just as readily as they do with the ones in front of the station main entrance.
